Yoga for people living with cancer  



The Yoga for People living with cancer class is a free class to anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis and wants to come and experience yoga 

 The Yoga Therapy Foundation 

Yoga for cancer has been shown to be beneficial for both mind and body.  During a diagnosis and through treatment and beyond yoga can be hugely supportive of the emotional state.  This class is offered by the Yoga Therapy Foundation, a local charity, founded by Ann-Marie Mainprize a local yoga teacher. Classes are offered free to anyone who needs them, a donation can be made, and all donations go directly to the charity. 

 Where & When  

The class is taught by Pam, a yoga teacher with additional training in teaching yoga to people with cancer (from the British Wheel of Yoga). 
The class runs 1.30 -3pm every Wednesday at the Ami Yoga Studio, 5 Princes Ave, HULL HU5 3RX. Please do get in touch if you have any questions about the class. You are assured a warm welcome from the group. 
Everyone in the group has their own cancer story, some will be in treatment, some may be terminal. We are all understanding of any limitations, and all abilities are welcomed. It doesn't matter if you've never attended a yoga class before, it doesn't matter if you can't balance on one leg (it doesn't matter if you only have one leg!) adaptations can be offered as required.

"I attended I feel the fear course run by Pam and it was a great day that has stayed with me over the years. As a small group of about 10 women, we were all total strangers when we met but Pam developed a trust and bond between us on that day, and we have since met up on several occasions following the course. 
Pam was an inspiration. Warm friendly but professional. She conducted the course with slides, workshop type tasks, questionnaires and provided great notes to take away. But we took away much more than that, we  started to make changes in our lives. We started to ‘feel the fear and  do it anyway’! I know Pam has a lot to offer many people and I highly recommend the workshop.
